Even though Groundwork were pleased with the planters, the residents on the estate they were installed on were slightly less enthusiastic.
Apparently, the residents association complained that there was enough rusty stuff littering the estate as it was and demanded for them to be painted!

Stainless Steel Rusted Planters
We were asked to price for these beasts by Groundwork down in Walsall. There were about six of them in all measuring two metres by one metre and they were to be installed on a council estate.
The picture shows them halfway through the rusting process after they'd been fabricated but before they'd been lacquered and a series of led lights with a special back panel inserted.
You can read the full back story as to the problems we had at first with the planters and how we actually rusted them here on The Tinbasher.

And you can also read how John won first prize in the Trawden Garden festival container competition here and here.
