The Tinbasher is a company blog to help customers learn more about Butler Sheetmetal Ltd, a small family-run sheet metal shop languishing in the backend of Lancashire. The blog’s primary focus is to let you know who the people behind the business are and what we do, but there’s also a few other metallic morsels thrown in for good measure. However, don’t let that stop you from getting confused by the occasional post that’s completely off-topic.
Should you wish to contact Paul regarding The Tinbasher, please feel free to drop him an email at tinbasher@butlersheetmetal.com.
If you have any enquiries regarding the work Butler Sheetmetal Ltd or Tinpot Alley do, you can get in touch with the guys back at the workshop via the contact page.
You can also visit the Butler Sheetmetal Ltd website or the Tinpot Alley website to get a full overview of our respective products and services.
PLEASE NOTE (DISCLAIMER): All views on this blog are those of its author and do not reflect on the views or thoughts held by Butler Sheetmetal Ltd. It is my misguided opinion.
By all means, knock yourself out in the comments, but don’t feel put out if I decide not to post your comment due to idiocy or profanity.
Thanks,
Paul Woodhouse.

Hello from across the border in Cheshire. It might be the backend, but I don’t think they do things like that here!!
Fantastic blog – great format, I’ll be back.

Well John (bro-in-law who owns Butler Sheetmetal) lives at the double cottage on Hollin Hall. Many an hour has been spent in the CockHill in the name of power business meetings.
I shall expect your reply some time round Christmas…;)

We’re only a small little place, Tom, but you can see a reasonably detailed break down of our capabilities here:
http://www.butlersheetmetal.com/sheet_metal_fabrication_capability.html
But to more pressing matters: are you originally from the UK or did you just take a wrong turn coming back from a trip to the Lake District? Which end of Trawden have you got a cottage?
After all, if you don’t tell me I’ll only get John to find out!

Nice information!
In the past I have built my own hydraulic press brake 60 Ton X 4 ft wide. I utilized dual ram’s salvaged from a catipiller, I utilized hydraulic dual selonoid valves to allow balance and stop control, not fancy but served the purpose up to 1/2″ plate and more.
I am looking for drawing’s
of a similar press but with a profesional touch. Are there professional drawings available?
The previous home built press handled only 4 Ft. width, my intentions are to build a six or eight foot press brake this time around! is their any one out there that can help me with drawings of such?
I will share pictures if any one is interested!
Thank you for any help I receive from other like minded individuals!
Sincerely Ron
