Just Your Average Twisted Genius.

The soup can mouse trap got me thinking what a bunch of twisted geniuses tinbashers are. I suppose it comes with the territory. Good sheet metal fabricators aren’t just welders, polishers, grinders or benders, they’re also some of the best problem solvers you’d ever wish to meet.
An interesting proportion of Butler Sheetmetal Ltd’s work is realising protoypes for various companies. We’re sometimes just presented with a problem and asked if we can sort it out. The best example that springs to mind is a fuel loading bracket we were asked to devise for Virgin Trains.

As you can see, it’s a pretty simple looking thing, but it works perfectly and was fitted onto all of Virgin Trains’ rolling stock.
Here are a few other examples of our steel prototyping services, if you wish to take a look.
A vast majority of sheet metal fabricators are frustrated inventors. Well maybe not so much frustrated as they tend to be able to at least build what they envisage. But I think they tend to be looking for that killer product that can go into mass production.
This chap is a fantastic example of what I mean. He’s managed to patent and trademark the majority of them and has some great ideas going on. My personal favourite has to be The Booterfly - an adapted boot removal device.
