Well this really does veer from the sublime to the ridiculous. The following link has 45 Yahoo Groups that you can join relating to metalworking and such.
You could join the (Klingon Imperial Weapons Guild), if you have a particular bent for forging Klingon weapons from scratch. You have to send them a letter to obtain their permission, though.
You can also join the , which explicitly states that the group isn’t a joke, but for those who didn’t realise you could get a 14 TPI hacksaw blade once you go into the realms of twelve inch blades. I can assure you it didn’t give me a chortle.
But, on the whole, the majority of the 45 groups are dedicated to metalworking and machining in all its various guises.
I think I might just waste an hour joining a few introducing them all to The Tinbasher.
