Things have been getting desperate of late with regards to scrap metal prices.

Last month, for example, thieves stole a railroad locomotive from a museum in Ukraine, part of the former Soviet Republic. They sold it for scrap and netted about $3,700, according to the British Broadcasting Corp. news service.

It looks like the corner has been turned, and we’re finally looking at scrap prices coming back down.

And hopefully, that’ll mean new steel prices will follow.
