I would like to make a jig that will bend 16x3mm mild steel strip to a radius of 300mm. This does not need to be very accurate, but must be repeatable as I wish to bend a number of lengths in order to make some metal railings. Are there any simple jigs I can make or reasonably cheap ones to buy?

Thanks for your help.

I have a length of 4mm stainless rod and want to make two loops in the length to act as a spring for a model aircraft undercarriage. If I heat it to assist the tight bend do I let it cool naturally or do you plunge in cold water.

What would the bend allowance be to calculate the blank size of the Stainless Steel Rod prior to the bending:
.125" diameter Stainless Steel # 304 Solid Rod.
Radius of bends = .5625"
