Apologies for any confusion.

Unfortunately, this comments thread was never intended for pricing advice. The reason I originally gave specific instructions to contact John and Matt directly by phone or via the contact page in the post was so they could deal with specific technicalities directly.

I don't know whether the problem with the stainless steel plinths would be water running underneath as opposed to being soaked up by the mdf. That's a fitting issue.

This is why we ask for drawings.

As for fixing, it all depends on what it is being fixed onto.

If you could give Matt or John a ring on 01282 870033 then they should be able to answer your questions.

I do know you can have them fabricated in brushed satin or polished stainless or a variety of decorative finishes.

Obviously they impact the price. And no two prices ever wind up being exactly the same.

I would appreciate some answers to the questions I asked (in December) before I send you drawings.

I have a finished kitchen but no plinths! The problem is made more tricky by the straight section (approx 4 mtres) containing a pull out drawer (with steps in) and an island unit with some interesting curves in it (therefore needs templating). is this something you could help me with? (p.s. I'm in London!)

Hi - I have just had a new kitchen fitted and realise now that I shouldn't have fitted laminated MDF plinths because there are a couple of places where small amounts of water gather on the slate tiled floor (eg around the dishwasher door) and the plinth just soaks it up causing the laminate to bubble. So... how about stainless steel replacements?

The total lineage is 11m and the height is 150mm but there are a couple of 45 degree angles as well as several 90 degree joins and I haven't a clue about making a joint like this in steel. Is it possible? How thick is the steel?

I could ask you to make exact lengths (I need 11 separate pieces) but experience tells me that the fitter would anyway have to trim on site so ideally I would have to find a fitter who can work with this material.

What is the recommended method of fixing - and can the pieces be removed temporarily if necessary, eg for cleaning or for accessing a leak in the pipes?

Finally, do you offer a choice of finishes, eg brushed, matt, glossy?

Did I ask how much £££?

Many thanks,

Simon

Thanks for stopping by, Cathy.

I've passed your comment on to the boys back in the UK and they should be in touch fairly shortly.

Supplying shouldn't be a problem and I imagine they should be able to cut all your pieces to size if you can provide them.

Thanks.

I am looking for brushed steel plinth for my kitchen. I need about 7m (by 16cm), longest length about 190cm. Can you supply such a thing? How much would it cost, and is it difficult for a builder to cut and install (with the right tools)?

Hi there

I would like to know how much it costs to have steel splashbacks and on the wall around the oven? Does it work out to be cheaper than the cost of tiles/tiling?

If someone could contact me ASAP that would be great.

thanks.
