Stainless Steel Planters on the Telly
Posted by Paul Woodhouse at March 14th, 2005
Looks like our planters might just be TV celebrities after all.
I received a phone call from Princess TV Productions asking if we could provide them with some planters for a new gardening show starting next Monday on Channel 4. It’s live from Blenheim Palace and airs every afternoon up until the middle of July. Apparently, our planters are supposed to be located round the main interview/studio/gazebo area and will get quite a bit of exposure - or so we’re reliably informed.
You’re more than welcome to read a little bit more about The Great Gardening Challenge here.
I have to say these next few weeks really are going to prove a bit of a tipping point. Don’t forget that the 24th sees us (well, me) down at the Canary Wharf Celebrity Garden Show over the Easter weekend - you can book your free tickets here.
The evening of the 24th sees me also speaking at the Six Apart/Nokia Blogs in Action event.
Straight after the Canary Wharf extravaganza I’ve got to hotfoot it up to Scotland to drop the planters off so that Anne Macfie can do her planting exhibition in them for the Ideal Home & Gardens Show.
And April should see the Gardeners’ World Planter Supplement published with one of our stainless steel planters in it - just a picture, not one stuck to the front with a lump of sellotape.
We’re already running at near capacity at the moment and I think it might a fair assumption to say that we’ll find ourselves getting a bit busier rather than a bit quieter.
It’s getting that busy there’s talk about some new premises just for the planter side and maybe me stopping here for another 12 months. It just means everything’s a bit up in the air until we’ve seen what happens over the next two weeks.
You’ll have to forgive me for not going into greater detail, but I’m almost at personal meltdown. I think I’d better crack on.
