Bespoke Stainless Steel at The Sheraton.

We got these pictures sent ot us of a pair of elongated bespoke stainless steel planters we fabricated for the Sheraton Hotel down at Heathrow Airport.

Here they are at either side of the foyer as you walk in.

Here’s one of them from the front.

Here’s one from an angle. (Although I’m sure you can see that for yourselves.)

And here’s one from the other side.

I hope these pictures give you some idea of the scale of the things as I don’t know the actual sizes.

Considering stainless steel photographs so appallingly as it tends to show up every single mark and fingerprint, I don’t think the chap who did these has done that bad a job.

Some Rusty Planter Pics

Do you recall how John trounced the competition alive in the Trawden Container Competition but I was unable to show you with what?

Well now I can.

This is the lovely little number that actually romped home in first place - not forgetting that there were only three entrants in the first place.

Rusted Square Planter

I never knew John had such a flair for planting.

And here’s a couple of cylindrical rusty planters in his back garden.

I’ll upload these and a few more into our flickr gallery and Tinpot Alley fairly shortly.

Stainless Steel Planters Are Hot!

Quite literally.

I’m not talking about everybody wanting the damn things, but about how they can dry up your root systems very easily if your stainless steel planter is basking in the sunshine.

Not that it should present anyone with too much of a problem in the UK, but seeming today qualifies as a potential heatwave I just thought I’d mention that it’s a relatively good idea to make sure your stainless steel planters are lined in order to absorb some of the heat or to place them in the shade if you’ve got one in a sun trap.

[want to see one with a sun tan?]

At least this isn’t a problem with us as we always tend to put liners in them anyway.

You can visit Tinpot Alley here to look at some of our stainless steel planters, water features or other bespoke metalwork.

‘2,3,4,5. We don’t want them oxidised.’

Do you remember those large rusty planters we manufactured for an installation in the Midlands?

Well there’s only been a peasant’s revolt by the residents of the housing estate they were being plonked on.

Apparently, they placed one out of the six in situ and there were placards, petitions and all manner of grass roots action. Somebody even thought about chaining themselves to the beggar and a sit-in was planned for this coming Sunday. Or at least this is what the guy who had them commissioned in the first place kind of told us whilst seeking advice as to the best way to paint over them and if you could use Hammerite.

I remember a similar fuss being kicked up regarding the Angel of the North.

The customer is always right, especially when they’re wielding lumps of 2 by 4.

Ooops….I should’ve told you about these round Christmas time and that’s why there’s a poinsettia sat in it.

I’m rather surprised there isn’t some kind of camera blur caused by one of the petals dropping off.

This is roughly 300mm x 300mm and includes a liner and base. However, the sizes don’t stop there.

This is a picture of the prototype that John put together and it’s no problem at all quoting you for different shapes and sizes.
