I'm not sure, I heard they were more picky, and I know they eat a lot of things mice don't. I've also heard apples for voles.

Why does voles need the oatmeal and mice don't?

Peanut butter is an excellent way to catch mice, peanut butter with oatmeal is good for voles, also.

I don't understand why you don't have to use bait. we have mice in our bins (on our farm) and there are tracks everywhere.anyways having no bait doesn't seem to work. I was wondering if anyone uses bait and if so what kind? I heard peanut butter or chocolate works quite well but haven't tried it yet. any suggestions?

I hear that if you put sticky boards inside, the mice are really done for; definitely can't get back out with the sticky board attached !!

Ours worked wonderfully - until the mice figured out how to get out! They go in - eat their fill and leave. Can anyone tell me how to stop the exodus?

We use a "tin cat" and they work surprisingly well. The worst thing is when you forget to check it for a few days and find some mice in the process of cannibalizing one of their compatriots. Ours is an older one which doesn't have the plastic viewing panel (which would drive the cat crazy).

The sheetmetal work is typical excellent industrial design from a bygone era...
