Tinpot Alley Version #3,642
Posted by Paul Woodhouse at March 19th, 2007
Well we’ve got another version of the Tinpot Alley site which is now on tinpotalley.co.uk as opposed to tinpotalley.com.
The one thing to say in my praise is that at least I’ve finished one prior to the planter season kicking off. I normally time a Tinpot Alley release just in time for Bonfire Night or something.
Anyway, I’d appreciate any feedback if anything seems slightly off-kilter.
Thanks.

I like it! The theme you used is pretty neat - I wish I could sketch like that.
And I hope that the tornado from last week didn’t hit too close to home.
All the best,
Danny
Paul, that’s a very cool design. Particularly like the cartoon and the menus at the top and the way the portfolio photos scroll.
Blog design is clearly becoming a bit of a forte for you … although now you’ll probably tell me it’s a standard wordpress theme
I also wish I could sketch like that.
It’s just a stripped down psd of an existing theme that I’ve meddled with and managed to tweak into an existing wp theme that looked similar but different enough from the outset. The theme’s original author put it up on their blog claiming it was the best adaptation of any of their themes they’d seen. There must’ve been one or two shitty attempts to be fair.
At the end of the day they’re all free plugins and themes (well apart from the original templatemonster one I got the actual cartoon from). You’ve only got to put it together - not too hard really.
And the tornado managed to touch down at the end of the round then swing underneath us us until it hit Toys ‘R Us and a garden centre. Nothing was hurt other than a trailing labelia and a Dora the Explorer Sit ‘n Spin.
